Pranic Healing is an energy healing system. The presentation would begin with a definition and explanation of energy healing and include examples and benefits of other energy systems such as Reiki, Therapeutic Touch and Medical QiGong. A brief history of energy healing in general will be included leading to the founder of Pranic Healing, Chinese Energy Master Choa Kok Sui. Since Pranic Healing works directly with the energy centers (charkas) of the body, an overview of how Pranic Healing works will include a general discussion about the charkas and the levels they work with. This will be followed by a discussion about who can use Pranic Healing, some of the people using it, where it is being used, and what can be treated with Pranic Healing and some of the research involving the use of Pranic Healing. Included would be a discussion of how everyone really is a “gifted healer.”
The presentation would conclude with a demonstration or two and a short question and answer session. I will also have an information table at the West Lodge.

I was introduced to the basics of Therapeutic Touch in the mid 1980’s. Since that time, I have been working with different types of energy work (for close to 30 years).
I first began taking Tai Qi in the early 1990’s where I was first introduced to the Chakra system and I familiarized myself with works by Barbara Brennan and Caroline Myss.
In the spring of 1996, I participated in a “weekend intensive” at Pumpkin Hollow where I formally learned Therapeutic Touch under the direction of its founder Dr. Delores Krieger.
In 1997, I attended a weekend seminar with Caroline Myss.
I began my work with Pranic Healing in 1998. This includes classes and workshops with Chinese energy Master Choa Kok Sui, the founder of modern Pranic Healing. as well as volunteer work in Pranic Healing clinics. In the fall of 2007 I decided to become certified as a Pranic Healer and in 2008 began working towards becoming a Certified Pranic Healing instructor.
In 2009 I wrote an article about Pranic Healing which was published in the Holistic Resource and Light Bridges journals.
I have had training under Qi Gong Master Ho and trained in Qigong, Medical Qigong and Taiji under Taoist Master Sat Hon.
I have also participated in Reiki Levels I & II.
I am currently a NY licensed Acupuncturist (since October of 2000).
I am also a part time faculty member at Elmira College (since the fall of 2001) where I co-teach Nonwestern Complementary Therapies and Healing Hands classes.
