Childrens Mental Health and Alternative Treatments
Children face many pressures in today’s world and many are farther away from the natural healing our world has to offer. Screen time, technology addiction, constantly being “plugged in” to the social world has created new and troubling levels of stress, anxiety and depression in our youth. In my work with children and adults I’ve found profound healing in modalities that stand on the fringe or outside the usual realm of mental health treatments, though some are gaining in popularity and public awareness. These include movement, “change of state” games, Eastern Guided Imagery, Shamanic practices, aromatherapy, animal-assisted therapy, meditation, flower essences, CBD oil, and more. My intention is to be useful to others and to serve the youth of our community in their healing and evolution. There is always more we can do to guide our children to become healthier, more aware beings who will hold in their hands the future we are now creating.

About Uma (Tina) Hubbard, LCSW-R
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in private practice in Canandaigua, NY. I spent the first 12 years of my career working in community mental health clinics in Monroe and Ontario Counties. I had the honor of serving children, families, and adults with some of the most severe mental health challenges. Through that work I began to recognize that for some people, especially children, traditional approaches had limited results. My search began for methods and modalities that would provide opportunity for healing for all those I serve. That search opened my awareness to an intense spiritual journey and to the alternative healing modalities/opportunities that I could offer to everyone.
